TRAINING MENUS FOR DOWNLOAD

Here are some of the training menus I have used to prepare for various races. The MS-Word files can be downloaded by clicking on the links below. These are not my own original schedules but have been adapted (or merely converted from mileage) for my own use. All of the schedules are in metric.

Marathon--Advanced
An extremely advanced 18-week marathon program based on the "more than 70 miles per week" schedule in Pete Pfitzinger's Advanced Marathoning. The program peaks at 149K / week, so make sure you have a solid base before trying this program. I started this program on June 5, 2006, to train for the Iheya Moonlight Marathon, which will be held on October 7, 2006.

Marathon -- Advanced
An advanced 12-week marathon training program based on the schedules in Pete Pfitzinger's Advanced Marathoning. In terms of difficulty, this program is about half between Pfitzinger's "more than 70 miles per week" schedule and the "up to 55 miles per week" schedule. I used this program to train for the Okinawa Marathon, which I ran on February 26, 2006.

Marathon -- Intermediate
A solid 18-week marathon training program based on the "up to 55 miles per week" schedule in Pete Pfitzinger's Advanced Marathoning. Highly recommended. I used this program for my first marathon and was very happy with the result.

Marathon -- Intermediate
An intermediate 12-week marathon training program based on the "up to 55 miles per week" schedule in Pete Pfitzinger's Advanced Marathoning.

Marathon -- Beginner
A beginner 18-week marathon training program for the NAHA Marathon

Half Marathon -- Beginner
A 13-week half marathon training program for beginners, based on the Beginner Half Marathon Program that can be found on the coolrunning.com web site. I liked this program a lot and used it for the my first five half marathons.

Spring Training -- Intermediate
This is Hal Higdon's 12-week Spring Training Program for Intermediate Runners. This is a great program to prepare you for an advanced marathon training program.
